New Hampshire is well known for its access to all things outdoors. In fact CNBC voted New Hampshire as "the best state to live in" for 2012 based on a quality of life ranking system. We could go on and on about how great we think this part of the world is but let's just jump right into what we think are the best walking trails around Squam Lake. A short drive from Squam River Landing is the Chamberlain-Reynolds Memorial Forest. The forest, locally known as "NEFFA", has been managed by the Squam Lakes Association since 1953 when it was donated by the New England Forestry Foundation.
Read More...Squam River Landing experienced a fire last night around 10:30 pm at one of our buildings within Riveredge Marina. The fire was confined to just the Kesumpe Boathouse building and no others. No one was hurt and the marina continues to operate as always. We are sincerely thankful to all the Fire, Life Safety and Environmental First Responders for their impressive and successful work. We appreciate everyone from the community who has reached out offering their support.
Read More...I was speaking with a customer recently who is going to build a home here at Squam River Landing. Our discussion prompted him to ask a simple question yet my answer gave both of us a greater appreciation for life here at Squam. He asked, “What makes living at Squam Lake special compared to other beautiful lake communities”? I need to first point out that the answer is really more about the “why” and not the “what." Yes, there are many areas in and around New Hampshire to have a home whether you enjoy living near the water or the mountains. Squam Lake like other areas in the lakes region of New Hampshire has many homes with owners from away. This means the homes are considered vacation or second homes for the residents.
