Squam Lake

Squam Lake is located in the Lakes Region of central New Hampshire. The lake covers 6,791 acres and is the second largest lake located in New Hampshire. In 1981, the award winning film On Golden Pond was filmed on Squam Lake staring Henry Fonda, Katherine Hepburn and Jane Fonda. The lake is a nesting site for the common and loon, bald eagles and great blue herons. There are also several different species of fish on the lake like rainbow trout, landlocked salmon, small and largemouth bass and more.  Squam Lake also has over 30 islands, many of which are privately owned.
