Project Update
Our mission is to develop a residential community where our residents feel they’ve come home to a special place. Squam is home to us, a community of friends and families, many whom have known each other for generations. We believe it is our mutual responsibility to preserve the quality of the Squam Watershed through responsible development and land conservation.

The Homes, at Squam River Landing - A complete architectural and development redesign involving the homes and land is underway, mindful of conservation, while recognizing positive environmental and cultural changes rapidly occurring during these times. Squam River Landing is evolving to become a “green” residential community of single family homes, surrounded by open space. The land plan remains similar to the original project design, clustering homes on either side of the protected ridgeline, surrounded by open space and respectful of views looking up from Little Squam Lake.
The architecture of these homes will reflect the lake shore camp designs of days past, while the construction will use sustainable design features. The benefits of a “green” home include using less energy, water and natural resources; generating less waste during construction; creating healthier, more comfortable homes for residents and all the while, significantly reducing environmental impacts.
The project has been registered with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) which implements the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification process.
Commercial, Institutional and residential buildings account for approximately:
- 40% consumption of raw materials
- 30% of primary energy consumption
- 60% of Electricity consumption
- 12% of potable water consumption
- 35% of carbon dioxide emissions
- Average American spends 90% of their time, indoors
- 136 million tons construction debris
The sustainable design strategies we are working from include;
- Energy Efficiency
- Lower Carbon Emissions
- Renewable and Alternative Energy Sources
- Pollution Prevention
- Storm Water Management
- Low Impact Landscaping
- Water Efficiency
- Waste Minimization, Recycling, salvaging
- Heat Island Effect, roof and non roof
- Light Pollution Reduction
- Indoor Air Quality
- Low Emitting Materials and Finishes
- Dust and Erosion Control
- Regional and locally manufactured materials
LEED is a third party certification program and the national accepted benchmark for the development, design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selections and indoor environmental quality.

The Boat Club, Squam River Landing - This unique and affordable ownership opportunity provides fee simple ownership of boat houses and open boat slips with direct access to Squam Lake. The boat club not only offers its owners a home for their boats, but, also many amenities and an active social environment.
The boat club has sold over 80% of its inventory, leaving only 12 open slips and 3 boat houses available for purchase. These remaining assets are priced at 20 – 30% less than their prior list prices. From an investment perspective, the contributory value of coupling lake access with an off lake residence can serve to enhance home values. Owned lake access is a scarce, appreciating asset, on average of 12-18% since the early 1990’s in the State of New Hampshire.
Riveredge Marina - Provides quality and experienced marina services to our clients, offering boat sales, engine sales, trailer sales, ships store, boat rentals, fishing and hunting licenses, boat registrations, winter storage, slip rentals, day valet services, parts and professional, high quality, marine repair service. Riveredge has added new boat lines including Lund, Bryant, Glastron, and Chaparral while still offering Ski Supreme Ski Boats; and Honda and Mercury Outboard engines.
This coming summer of 2009, our community programs include the adaptive water ski program for disabled athletes, including a weekend Wounded Warriors event in August; and a Sprint Triathlon ( see www.circletriathlon.org ) with three race levels ranging from challenging, to fun for all ages, scheduled for Sunday, September 6th with all funds raised benefiting the Circle Program.
