The Squam Lake community has fostered a responsible balance of development and conservation since the first families started settling around the lake. The widely-known beauty of Squam is a direct result of this effort started by individuals who cared greatly for the area, and which is now implemented by organizations like the Squam Lakes Association and the Squam Lakes Conservation Society. For the overall health of the community, some development and new construction is good; for the retention of value, both monetary and emotional, preserving the character of the lake has been vital. Squam River Landing is a residential community designed to harmonize with the Squam Lake community by encouraging sustainable and responsible building practices while providing homes for people who will help enrich the area and enjoy all it has to offer.

This area provides residents with the unique balance of being under two hours from the Boston metropolitan area, yet just minutes from countless recreational or leisure activities, from great restaurants, spas, and excellent medical services, to ski areas, small and large mountains, and numerous lakes and rivers. The White Mountains are within easy reach and provide the willing with infinite adventures and challenges, while the nearby lakes and rivers can offer any type of water activity one might want. Alongside the outdoor activities, central New Hampshire has a plethora of cultural venues, offering everything from minor league baseball to local theater productions, summer art classes, and world-class musical acts.

Squam River Landing is a residential community, and is connected to the Squam River Landing boat club and Riveredge Marina right on the shore of Squam Lake. The homes will be sensibly sized, with an emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility. The land plan is designed to encourage community within itself, without sacrificing personal privacy. Hiking and biking trails will wind throughout the property, most of which will be left undeveloped, for the enjoyment of all the residents. The home sites are on top of a ridge, with views extending over the lake to the mountains on one side, and overlooking the Squam River and its following hills on the other side. The design guidelines and association documents are aimed at creating a cohesive community and preserving the character of the land, while allowing for homeowners to choose their ideal location and home design, or choose from a design from our project architect.
